Privacy Policy for the app Vaktin

This privacy policy describes how Gjaldstovan processes personal data in connection with the use of the mobile application Vaktin.

Purpose of Processing

The purpose of Vaktin is to maintain and plan scheduling of hours of employment based on contractual agreements and limitations.

Gjaldstovan has the authority to process your personal data pursuant to the following:

The Faroese Data Protection Act § 8, stk. 1, nr. 3, Processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the controller is subject.
The Faroese Data Protection Act § 16, stk. 1: “Public authorities may process data concerning identification numbers with a view to unique identification or as file numbers.”

Personal Data

We may process identifiable information such as name, email address and phone numbers, in addition to IP address, device information and usage data. Your governmental issued identification number (P-tal) is also processed.

Trade Union Membership for the purpose of scheduling hours based on contractual agreements. Contractual agreements concerning salary and other information is not processed or stored in Vaktin.

Data Sharing

Gjaldstovan only shares personal data where necessary for the operation of Vaktin. Personal data may be shared with employers and public authorities that use Vaktin for workforce scheduling and administration.

In addition, personal data may be processed in connection with the governmental financial management systems (BSL).

All recipients process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws and relevant data processing agreements.

Retention

Personal data processed in connection with the use of Vaktin is stored for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes of the system, including administration, documentation, and compliance with legal obligations.

Your Rights

Under the Data Protection Act, you have several rights, as further described in Chapter 4 of the Act. These rights include:

You have, for example, the right to access your personal data, to have data deleted where Gjaldstovan no longer has a purpose or legal basis for processing it, and to have your personal data corrected if it is inaccurate.

Complaints

Pursuant to Section 76 of the Data Protection Act, the data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority regarding the processing of personal data.

If you believe that Gjaldstovan is not processing your personal data in accordance with the rules set out in the Data Protection Act, you may submit a complaint to the Data Protection Authority.
